Tim recently did a lecture in Beijing about photographing in the rainforest. As a result there have been many local articles on Tim and his work. China Radio International posted a story about Tim’s Bird of Paradise project with lots of Tim’s pictures. They have an english version on their website.

Orangutans in the Mist
Tim’s recent DSLR video was used in a science video on U.S. News’ website. Produced by the National Science Foundation, the video features Tim’s wife, Cheryl Knott, as she talks about her orangutan research. She has been working in Borneo for 18 years and speaks about her conservation efforts to help protect the endangered orangutan. You can watch the movie on U.S. News Science page. Traveling to China
Tim will be in China in May as an instructor for Wild China’s photo camp. They have a nice website with field portraits of Tim and a slideshow of his images ranging from Antarctica to the rainforest. While Tim is in China, he also is giving two presentations in Beijing and Shanghai for National Geographic China.

What do the above magazines have in common? They all have Tim’s picture in their recent issues. The Magazine Publishers Association is using Tim’s image of a file-eared tree frog from Borneo Island, Indonesia as part of their ad campaign. The ad below was published in the March 14th issue of Time Magazine.

NG Masters of Photography Lecture
National Geographic Live is presenting two lectures by Tim this weekend. The first is entitled Bizarre and Breathtaking in New Guinea which will be held on Friday November 5th at 7:30 p.m. at National Geographic in Washington D.C.. Simply Beautiful
The Steven Kasher Gallery is hosting the exhibit Simply Beautiful from October 21 to November 23. Tim’s image Cranes in Morning Mist, Hokkaido Island, Japan is on display along with other National Geographic photographers pictures. All of the NG Image Collection images are available as limited edition prints.
