The January/February 2011 issue of BBC Knowledge features Tim’s images in the story “Protecting the Killers”. This is the first time that Tim’s work has been published in the UK magazine. The photographs used were from Tim’s mangroves coverage which you can see at Tim Laman.com
For the holiday season, Tim Laman’s images are available as prints and cards. Visit Tim’s Archive to view an ever increasing number of photos to choose from. Prints range from 8×10 to 16×20 inches. The folded greeting cards come in two sizes, 3.5×5 and 5×7 inches.
Tim was recently in the Raja Ampat Islands of Indonesia again, continuing shooting for his Birds of Paradise Project. He had a chance to shoot aerials from the front seat of pilot Max Ammer’s ultralight. Max has been a leader in the exploration and conservation of this area for many years and besides owning the premier diving destination resort in the area (check out Papua-Diving.com), he has founded the Raja Ampat Research and Conservation Center which aims to promote the study and conservation of the unparalleled biodiversity of this region.
These amazing islands are home to two unique species of Birds of Paradise. Check out the time lapse video of Tim and Max’s flight.
National Geographic Live is presenting two lectures by Tim this weekend. The first is entitled Bizarre and Breathtaking in New Guinea which will be held on Friday November 5th at 7:30 p.m. at National Geographic in Washington D.C.. The Steven Kasher Gallery is hosting the exhibit Simply Beautiful from October 21 to November 23. Tim’s image Cranes in Morning Mist, Hokkaido Island, Japan is on display along with other National Geographic photographers pictures. All of the NG Image Collection images are available as limited edition prints.

This past weekend the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition announced the winners and had the gallery opening at the Natural History Museum in London. Tim was specially commended in the Creative Visions of Nature category and highly commended in the Gerald Durrell Award for Endangered Wildlife. You can see the winning images below.
